Kernel_Data_Inpage_error....I get this error now and then and its pissing me off. It begins a dump of physical memory. It also list "atapi.sys" on the blue screen. How can I fix this? My system is running very sluggish and it just started out of no where. Thanks

It means the OS wanted to swap in a page of memory from disk, but couldn't.

Why? Don't know yet. Maybe the driver crashed; maybe there was an I/O error on the disk.

ATAPI.SYS is the IDE driver. Maybe it's imcompatible with your hardware, or suffering from a problem in a lower level driver. If there's an I/O error, it should be logged in your system event log.

You need to verify that you don't have a hard disk surface problem or RAM issue.

Run a "chkdsk /r <driveletter>:" on each of your hard drives (for sure on whichever drive your page file is on) and run a memory test utility. You'll find a problem one place or the other.

It's probably the drive since its atapi.sys that is abending...
