keeps chkdisking on startup for no reason.

i'm using winxp pro. ever since my brother turned off my computer with the power button at the login screen everytime it starts up it wants to do a checkdisk, how do i fix this?

i know with 98 you could always run msconfig and disable it there.... give it a try....

That's a start, but it sounds like your drive is on it's last legs.

err... its new... I dont think it has anything to do with it because it only wants to check one of the partitions

If you know what's wrong why did you ask? If part of a drive platter is scratched or somehow is damaged, then it will run chkdsk on the partition that utilizes that area.

I don't know how to make it STOP chkdisking EVERY time on startup...
