Keeping 6800gt cool

So I just ordered a 6800gt (this one specifically), and I've read a few things about how it runs hot. Even though I don't plan to overclock it (atleast now, no real reason at this point in time) I'd like to keep it as cool as possible, so I threw in this cheapo little PCI blower with my order. So, I was wondering, do you think that this thing will help cool my GT at all, or will it just be pulling warm air over it from the CPU? I ask because several people say the fan I bought either marginally helped or even hurt their temps. BTW, I'm using a TT Tsunami case, w/o the side window, which I understand isn't the greatest for cooling either, but like I said I'm not overclocking at this point in time. I was also wondering if physically modifying the blower fan to blow cool air into the case onto the GPU would help more than sucking hot air out? I guess any general advice on keeping it cool would be great, although I don't really want to go and buy an nvSilencer.

if your not overclocking leave it alone if it breaks rma it imo the nv silencer isnt worth the money for what you get for preformance your better off getting the copper replacments for the gt heatsink
