I have had my Dell 2707WFP for a week or two and I was thinking of getting the Sharp LC-32GP1U. There is nothing wrong with the Dell (I like it) but the I like the 32" size and higher contrast ratio. Is it worth returning the Dell? They are around the same price but I wonder if Dell will make me pay 15% restock fee.

No don't keep it...send it to me!:D Seriously though..I think the Dell 2707WFP will be better for all around use than the Sharp. I saw a thread here recently that stated that it (Sharp 32" lcd) was great for tv but sucked as a computer monitor. What are your needs?

Keep the 2707 for sure,or send it to me and not joemama,he doesnt really want it anyway.

:p

Both 1080P 32 Inch Sharp models use the same panel. I have the one not listed in that thread... Basically the one that is NOT the Gamer Edition so the serial number ended with D62U... All the specs are the same as the Gamer Edition, except instead of having a DVI port in the mix, it has two HDMI ports... And no Viper Drive... Which is suppose to reduce input lag between consoles / PC's and the TV.

I find the D62U model to be an awesome computer monitor. But I still would say the Dell is a nice product as well. It really comes down to choice, personally that extra contrast ratio gets turned down in everything but games... because otherwise between that and its backlight, webpages with a white back ground want to burn out my retinas. :p

Just a heads up, if you read further into that thread (page 2 I believe) you'll see that the person who said that the 32" Sharp sucked as a PC monitor later retracts his statement. Initially he wasn't running the TV in 1:1 mode which caused the text to be blurry. The first page or two of the thread are a mess due to the editing of posts and people quoting his original comments, so it is understandable why you came to that conclusion.

If you are comparing the two, another thing you definately should take into consideration is - 5 Extra Inches! That's a big change in screen size!

One thing to add about the Dell. I don't have a camera to take a pic but the blacklight on the Dell is the best I've seen. No dead or stuck pixels either. Maybe I will keep it, still not 100% sure though.
