I am having this problem and I have trouble pinning down the cause.
My 3 year old KDS Rad 7 17" LCD monitor works perfectly fine. Except when I play the game "Guild Wars", or a specific minigame in Sid Meier's Pirates. What happens (at random points in time) is lines of tearing and distortion which sometimes eventually lead to momentary black out of the picture. The monitor basically shuts off - backlight stops working too. The blackout usually lasts for about a split second. Sometimes longer, depending on what I do in the game.
It seems to tbe the problem in the monitor, not the video card since I swapped monitors with my friend (also an lcd monitor), and the problem doesn't persist.
Does anyone know what could be the cause of it? How I can avoid the flickering? How can I fix it?
