K8N Neo Plat USB issues

About half the time after I boot my system up, I have to unplug my usb keyboard and mouse, and plug them back in for them to work.

I have not flashed the bios yet. Will the most recent bios probably fix this annoying problem? I've never flashed (first build :) ), and I'm a little nervous from stories I've heard. But if it will fix this, then I might as well.

so your using the front usb?
idk if i ever have gotten the front usb on mine to work properly but then agian i really dont use them

do you have your front usb(pin outs on the mobo) hooked up? if so try disconnecting them

i think this is a common problem with the original BIOS. Flash to the newest official release.

Has anyone found a fix for this problem?

WE upgraded the BIOS of the msi K8N Neo Platinum to 1.4 (latest official) and still get NO MOUSE ON BOOT of windowsXP. If we unplug and plug it back in, it detects it and runs just fine. Does ANYONE have a fix for this? Quite annoying.

We just picked up a msi K8N Neo FSR (non-platnum) as well and it has the SAME PROBLEM! Fresh install! What is up with this?

To see if you have this problem, turn OFF your computer via the power supply switch (or disconnect the power cord from the wall). Then boot and see if
your mouse comes up.

It seems MANY are having this problem with the msi K8N Neo. Anyone know if these K8N Neo boards are defective or if there is any fix?

My advice would be to upgrade to the latest 1.55 beta bios, as despite being a beta, it is much better than the 1.4, as ti fixes numerous issues. Also I have no problems on mine my MS Optical Blue USB mouse, but I haven't got a USB keyboard to test it out with. To see if it's a problem witht he mosue or the keyboard you could try using the mouse with a usb->ps2 adapter. It's what I use on mine so it doesn't take up a usb port.

Really? What does it fix? Aayone using this BIOS and noticed any other problems or improvements it introduces? I guess it is worth trying at this point because whenever the computer is powered off completely via external switch, it is annoying to have to unplug and plug in the mouse every time. This is on multiple machines with this motherboard and is just aweful.

Anyone got a fix for this yet?

The first thing would be is why do you power it down Via the power supply switch or un plug it? Cant you shut it off via windows? I have ocasionally had the same problem But only after I make some sort of major install, Like service pack 2 or antivirus. But not all the time and very rarely. I would not get to worked up over it, Its a minor glitch and im sure that in a near/soon bios there will be a fix. All manufactures have issues and all need fixing, and at that token everything and anything made by human hands isnt perfect. Possible bad mouse driver or, the such. Have you contacted MSI via email/phone or their site and mentioned it? I have had some issues in the past with some boards I have bought from them and they are pretty good with their customer service from my experince.
