I am running a athlon 64 3000 754 pin cpu right now. but my wife's computer has an athlon xp 3000+ cpu so i was thinking about buying a ASROCK K7Upgrade-880 motherboard so i can put my cpu in her computer later when i upgrade to a a64 3200 or 3700. but i don't know if it would be worth the trouble. for one thing the manual that i downloaded for that board does not tell me if i need to leave the socket a cpu installed when i upgrade. or if i can remove it. i have two other computers running in my home and i could use the cpu from my wife's to upgrade one of the other computers later. can anyone tell me if it is even worth the trouble and exspence?
