i'm planning to do my 2500+xp mobile to 3200+

so in order to oc...

1. go in bios
2. change fsb to 200, change multiplyer to 11
3. up the vcore (by how much?)
4. ?change pci/agp bus speeds?

for my fsb and multi adjustments, should i do increments or just go all out and change it to 200/11?. i read somewhere that i have to change my pci/agp bus speeds? i don't get this step, i have an A7N8X-E deluxe mobo if this helps.

is this all that there is to oc'ing?

ps, should i run prime95 after.
 
You're probably best off searching this forum and others for guides to OCing. There are several good guides out there that can give you an intro to the basics of overclocking. Also, try your mobo manufacturer's website for any forums that they run...Abit, for example, runs great forums that can let you know just about anything you want regarding Abit products. That's a place to start.

Lift you fsb high
slowly increase multi

stress test between multi increase to find stable point.

should i lift my fsb to like 200, and then slowly increase my dropped multi? and what about vcore? does that come last?
 
you want to do it right without damaging anything ? Your goal should be 2.2 + Ghz,
You can just jack-up your fsb to 200 and continue from there with a lowered multi. But that is starting backwards imho. First thing i like to do is lower multi to 3 or 5, yes that low. Now reboot and raise fsb in small increments (takes longer but nothing worth having doesnt) running a benchmark or similar test to test fsb o/c. I would up my fsb in steps of 5 but thats me. Once you get to 200( you do have faster then pc3200 dont you?) you begin to see what your ram fsb ceiling is. Since no multi is involved, your fsb will on both ram and cpu will be very forgiving and will show you their true potential. Lets say you finally get to 214 while being stable, well then one would start to raise multi one at a time until 10 is realized. At 10 you are at 2140 mhz, not great but remember fsb is king over multi. If your very lucky with a chioce stepping plus other factors... 2.4 + is possible. Its not the norm, but possible. GL :)

*UPDATE* also i see alot of peeps upping the voltage alot in order to reach high goals, i would not go past 1.7 and anything above requires serious cooling on northbridge ... GL
