Those were fine until we started having aspect ratios other than 4:3 and 16:9.

Ironically, they are still better than calling something 1440p. "Excuse me, did you just ASSUME my ASPECT RATIO?!"

We could just start calling resolutions by their combined megapixel count. I'm sure that won't add to the confusion at all, no siree bob.

Just list the resolution. All these games need to stop. I agree once we had multiple aspect ratios, all these shorthand versions became useless.
