Does anyone know how much a diffrence there would in fps in cs:source if i go from a amd athlon 2400+ to an Athlon 64 3500+ socket 939? With all the same parts that i have listed except for the motherboard that is a Chaintech S1689 ULI M1689. And if i get another stick of 512 would that help even more?

AMD Athlon 2400+
512 mb
Western Digitail 80 GB 7,200 rpm
Sound Blaster Live! 24-Bit
Syntax S746FX Mobo
Sapphire X800 XT Platinum Edition 520/1120
 
most of these tests are done with the same video card that you have... so if you know what you get now, you can know how much of an improvement you will see by moving to various a64 chips ;)
 
faster processor. upgraded ram. yes you will notice a difference. not just in games but everything else as well. if you got the cash by all means upgrade. and tell us how you feel before the system change and after .

Probably not a huge difference in FPS but the load times should be much faster.

If you are running an XT PE on a XP2400+, ANY game is going to be CPU limited. You're probably providing comparable FPS to an moderate A64 / 9800XT rig there. I can guarantee you that if you dropped a 2.2ghz 3500+ in there your FPS would jump up like crazy. So yes, if you have the finiancial means, by all means unleash that XT PE.
