Well i just upgraded a comp for a friend and the specs are as follows:

Abit NF7-S v2.0
AMD 2800+
512MB GeiL RAM
Lite-On DVD
Seagate 40GB HD
True430

I don't nkow what else to include but as soon as i plugged in all the tings correctly...(triple checking) when i turn it on it the RED and GREEN LED's light up. I suppose that this isn't normal because on my own Asus it lights only green. What could be wrong? I rechecked all my wires, set all the proper jumpers, rechecked and refitted all IDE's. Right now I am loading up the new OS and it works fine but I don't know what the RED LED is telling me. I've rechecked it 3x already and still when i turn it on it still shows up RED LED.

Please help!

The red led on the NF7-S is actually a good sign. It is telling you that it has standby power. Everything is fine.

 are you kidding me? I haven't read the manual that's why I ask. *hits head repeatedly with palm* stupid stupid stupid.
So there is absolutly NO PROBLEM whatsoever right? I'm just wanting to make sure because I know that RED isn't a good color :p at least not on my asus.

So i finally brought the comp to my friends house and he doesn't have a backup power hooked up and when i plugged the comp into the power strip the LED still lit up RED? Any help?

psst

did you read the manual?

i know my asus and intel boards have a green light on them that lights once power is applied to the system, whether or not it's completely on

(atx boards are softpower, meaning that once the mainboard power is hooked up and the cord is plugged into the back, there's power to the board)
