• Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.

Just thought this was interesting

There is a BUNCH of points and CPUs down the tubes for the Roos. Sad to see that someone would do this (and not saying anything bad about OCAU as they are in it hard for the cure as well) just showing that I thought it was interesting.

This has been kicking around for sume time. Stanford cut off WU's going to this user 2-3 weeks ago, but I don't think Stanford has zerod the account yet.

Play nice here, OCAU did the standup thing here (to the extreame). Good guys over there.

Yea I saw some of it from their forums a while back, but didn't follow it too closely. It's always bad when one person f's it up for a whole group like that

Yep, it is good of them to make sure that they're covering themselves. Also, that's why we push the "with permission" so hard.

It's not only personal, but team reputation that can be hurt by such actions. :(

Man, if someone here did that, I would PM every admin here to get them permanently banned. I would be right next to everyone on the folding-community forum with my torch and pitchfork. This kinda thing violates both the letter and spirit of F@H. I mean, c'mon! Yes, this is a competition, and yes, we want to get as many WUs done as quickly as possible, but stealth installing via a trojan is just....wrong in so many ways.

Plain and simple its against the EULA. Moose used to have a sticky about it, with the contents of the EULA but it's since been unstickied... but you get my drift.

Torches and pitchforks, and a reach through for good measure. :D

I wasn't trying to bash OCAU at all I just thought it was interesting that someone did it (I would have posted it if it had been team noname with 4 users not just the roos.

I'm just suprised it took so long to catch me.

I walk the thin line between "encouraging" and "forcing" people to fold for me. When I made anti-fold, it defaults to folding for me. When I made the installer, again it defaults to me. But there's a difference to having it set up to default to me and having it secretly fold for me in the background. This makes me all the angrier when somebody intentionally and "with malice aforethought" crosses that line. I have no respect for those who steal others' resources.

Tar and feathers, coming right up.
