Just thought I'd ask a question

I was just wondering what kinda of setup would i want to cool a 3000+? I want a res so i can light it up and a external rad. also would i want to put a fan on the rad? i am going to try for absolutly silent. I am even going to use a fanless 480w psu.

Well if you are planning on ABSOLUTE silence then you should consider a convection radiator like the ones made by innovatek or zalman. Now what I think you really mean is that you want a relatively silent watercooling system with a fan running at low voltage. You must also consider that the pump will make noise so picking one that is almost silent is a good idea. I'm not familiar with very many pumps so I cant help you there. What I would recommend is for you to visit some websites (frozencpu.com, dangerden.com, svc.com ect...) and look at the kits and which fall into your price range. From there you can decide on wether to go with a kit or put together a personalized system from various parts.

Aslo, were you planning on overclocking or are you just trying to silence your computer??

Actually I plan on just silencing my computer. So i'm going for complete silence. I'm going to be using sound deadining material to cut out the noise comming from the pump. thanks for the info. I will check out the sites.
