just the last few days, shutting down causes operations in progress, please wait

I shut down and this operations are in progress please wait.

And I wait, and keep waiting. It appears that there is no activity at all..

Anybody heard anything about this before?

Well, it looks like it is an Acronis 2011 thing. It is causing the issues.

I guess I either need to find another program or use the Built in Win 7 Backup program

When win7 shuts down it waits for all the programs to tell it that it's safe to shut down. If acronis is running and it doesn't respond or says that it's not ready, windows will wait.

I see this occasionally when I restart or shut down while something is going on. Look for a patch for Acronis or check their web site... there might be a fix.

yep, I get the same issue... (Win 7, 64bit) happens when I perform a full backup and then shut down or restart... in contact with Acronis... how appear oblivious to the issue ... will update when they acknowledge....

I went back to the 2010 version....Works the way it is supposed to work..
