Just ordered the 2405FPW

I got mine on the way with a dimension 9100 Im not sure how good the deal was but it came to $1200 shipped the inspiron is as follows:

P4 630 3GHz
160GB SATA HDD
512MB DDR2
ATI X300 Vid card
Win XP Home
DVD +/- RW

I priced the cheapest system I could build on the egg with these specs and a legit OEM copy of windows and it came to ~$700 so I guess I got my monitor for about $500 or you could just split it down the middle and say the monitor was $600 and the computer was $600 all in all i think im made a good choice since i need a new rig to tide me over till next summer.

edit: put inspiron 9300 instead of precision 9100 which is what I actually got the monitor with cause I recently got an inspiron 9300 too :)

Humm I wonder what if I did it with a laptop.. .

Couldnt resist the size and beauty of the 2405fpw. I paid approximately $1044US for the monitor, since Im from Australia. I placed my order on a Monday morning, and it arrived on Friday during lunch time. First thing everyone does is check out for dead pixels. How was my luck? CRAP! got one dead pixel on the top left portion, very noticable when Im working with word or excel, or any white, light, bright background! Its very annoying, it made my happy day a sad day.Tried rubbing it, no help so I decided to call dell and told them I had backlight issues, which is very minor but I used it as a reason for a new replacement to be sent to me! Just hoping this new replacement is fault free. If not, you guys think I should go for a 2nd replacement?

Keep doing it until your happy, I know I was. My first one had a terrible backlight issues, luckily my second one was perfect.

Luck I dont have.
=(

Did you give them any BS excuse? Because this panel has very minor backlight issues on the bottom right, except that when the Dell guy asked me what issues it had, I just stated it had 'massive' backlight issues and I cannot work with it. So if the replacement has a dead pixel(s), Im gonna run out of ideas! lol

But for now, I'll play the waiting game and see how the 1st replacement goes, which should arrive soon.

They have no choice but to give you the benefit of the doubt, as arguing with a customer is something Dell cannot afford *literally* to do.

i got mine and i love it. i dont see any dead pixels...but for some reasont he lighting seems off or something i dont know if this is normal (its my first lcd) but from like different angles the screen looks to be different brightness almost its hard to describe...it could also be my eyes havent adjusted to it yet though.

Received my 2nd one, cruddy luck, this one actually has worse backlight leakage at the bottom right compared to the 1st one. Also a stubborn green stuck pixel. Looks like Ill be going for a 3rd!
