I just ordered the parts for my new computer (most of them at least... damn bills D:), and I can't wait for everything to get here.

Specs:
Case: Antec Twelve Hundred
PSU: OCZ GamerXStream 700w
Mobo: Asus P5Q Pro
CPU: Intel Q6600 @ 2.44 GHz
RAM: G. Skill 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 1000
Graphics: HIS 4850
HDD: Maxtor 300GB

I can't wait to get my new parts... this is a massive upgrade for me. My last rig is a P4@2.3 with 768Mb of RAM and a ATi Radeon 9700 Pro.

As a bit of the afterthought, since I haven't ordered my video card yet, does anybody have any preferences on 4850 cards?

Really massive upgrade its sick actually.

On the video card, Visiontek HD4850 for its lifetime warranty. Other than that, Asus HD4850 for the chick on the vid card. :D

nice setup and it will be leaps and bounds better than what you are coming from!

go visiontek for the warranty

+1 on the visiontek as well, few extra dollars for a better warranty, can't beat it, especially my last ati cards all went down the tubes within a year(9800, 9600)

You have no idea how psyched I am. Even if it wasn't such a nice upgrade, my mobo has been giving me data corruption problems for a while now. Just having a mobo that won't crash constantly will be amazing.

Really BIG uprgade. I use to game on a 9800pro which is faster than your 9700 pro vid card then I upgraded to a new pc with an 8800GT and the difference was humongous in gaming. You are coming from a slower 9700 pro video card than my 9800pro moving up to a HD4850 which is faster than my 8800GT card. Enjoy man enjoy! Hehe :D
