So I finally took the plunge and ordered my First Shuttle. Tell me what you guys think:

Shuttle SN25P
A64 4000+ San Diego
2 Gig DDR400 GEIL
74 Gig Raptor
Sapphire X850XT
NEC-3540A
Logitech Z-2300

I will be using my Viewsonic A90F+ 19" CRT with this thing.

where did you get this setup at? off the sff site?

im curious what you paid for this because its the type of setup that i have been looking into with the SFF and just debating getting it and making the switch.

so, back to my main question: how much did you pay, and what site?

I think that for all of the heat that's going to be dissipating from that x850xt, that raptor, and that processor, you should have put it into a tower, not a SFF.

Newegg: $1700 w/o logitech speakers, monitor, and keyboard and mouse

And heat will not be a problem because it is the SN25P. People have put FX-55, 3 raptors, and 6800 U in this. WOOT!!! I should have it either tomorrow or Saturday

I'm debating on a similar setup as Arkanian myself and I'm also worried about heat. Thing is, I really don't want a big ass tower. I'm tired of them, plus I move around more than normal since I'm in the Air Force now. I'm using a large desktop replacement laptop now as my main PC but I want something a little more powerful and *some* upgradibility. Just not sure on what to get.

I don't think heat is a problem with the P Chasis style that the Shuttle SN25P uses. Plus my X850Xt dual slot is good because the heat is blowin out the back of the shuttle.

I'd be interested in your setup + impressions after you get this thing up and running. I've had all the parts in my Newegg cart for at least a month heh...

I had that exact setup and had absulotely no heat issues. but I recently changed to a seagate drive over the raptor because I got sick of the noise and the seagate is pretty much just as fast at everything except for boot-up.

Yeah i thought about the Seagate 250gb as well. I decided to stick with the Raptor since I have 2 80 gig and a 40 gig external hard drives. I should have it in Saturday hopefully.

good luck man, sounds like a sweet set-up

PS: you spelt Geil wrong in your sig ;) ;)

Any complaints about your system? Still debating on whether to take the plunge on a setup similar to yours.

Well I will probably have it tomorrow. I don't have any complaints. I am very happy with my setup. Of course I could have waited 24 hours and got the 7800GTX but I didn't.

None, I've had it since March. What i found is that it is very important to make sure the cool N' quiet AMD function is enabled and working. This makes it very quiet, cool yet the ramp up speed is temendous when you need it. The latest BIOS version O is the one you want for this to work properly.

Well, I finally took the plunge.

SN25P
AMD 3700+ San Diego
2GB Corsair XMS
Segate 250GB SATA
NEC 3540A DVD Burner
ASUS X800XL 256MB

Should work nice with my Dell 2005FPW. Since I'm probably making the jump to X2 shortly after I get to Germany (woo hoo!) this Christmas, I went with some cheaper items. I probably could've bought the Venice 3000+ but I suck at overclocking.

Now all I need is for someone to buy my Dell Inspiron 9100. :D
