I just ordered a Saphire X800 XT-PE AGP version. I was wondering for anyone that has this card what kind of performance gain will I see over my 9800 pro AIW? The reason I got this card is because I plan to get me a 2005 PWF monitor, and I wanted a card that would do high res and high AA/AF. My specs: P4 3.06- 9800 PRO AIW- 1 GIG PC 1066- 160 WD HD-AUDIGY 2- GA8-HIXP MB REV 2- XP HOME. :) thanks for replies.
 
You should have quite a performance increase. I had a 9700 pro and my game performance is double, if not a bit more. 3DMark03 went from 6100 to over 12,000 and 05 from 2100 to 5733. I am quite happy with my card.
 
haha, i dont want to get a 21'' flat crt just cause i know that ill be upgrading my video card within a week if i do so :) 1024x768 is enough for me :)
and yeah, with the few xts ive seen in real life, you should double your in games performances and be able to run af maxed :)
 
The difference will BLOW you away. I went from a 9500Pro running at a little past 9700Pro speeds to an XT PE. Suddenly I could run 1600x1200, 6xA/16xAF at 60,70,80,90,100+ FPS. WOW! My 9500Pro could put out 50FPS at 1024x768 with medium detail............sometimes................
 
Congrats! I just ordered my PE on friday, mine will be here tomorrow, I got a Gigabyte brand. I am also upgrading from a 9800Pro AIW. Can't wait.

I upgraded to a XT PE from a 9800 pro AIW. I don't remember exact scores but...
3dmark03: ~6,200 to ~13,200
and I just broke 6,000 on 3dmark05. (not bad with p4 3.0c, I think.)

The 1600X1200 difference is amazing to me. I still love the AIW card though...I gotta build me a HTPC box with it.
 
Thanks for all the replies. Mine should be here Wednesday. I can't wait! I'll let you guys know how it goes. I looked at 6800 GTs but I think I'll be hapier with this. I won't be able to upgrade my computer again for a year so I think this will last at least that long. All of the reviews I read said that ATI has better AA/AF performance. That was why I went with ATI. I don't know why everyone says the XT PEs were scarce because I found quite a few sites that had them in stock. Once again thanks for the replies, and I'll keep you updated! :)
 
You wouldnt have been disapointed with a 6800GT either, trust me. Theyre all good cards.
