Anyone have any suggestions/advice? I just ordered new hardware and wondering even though I've seen the reviews and such but I wana hear opinions on what I bought from personal exp with it.


Right now I can't wait because this will be the fastest cpu I've owned, I've always been a few years behind and proably always will.

My current cpu is a 2200+ that I sold localy and will be gone when the 2500+ M gets here.
 
Depending on what you use your computer for, the XP's are just fine. You ordered the Mobile version so I asume you want to do some overclocking. If you have PC3200 (400fsb) RAM this is a very easy task to take the 2500+ 1.83ghz to 2.4ghz.
 
yeah the other hardware I ordered is some patriot PC3200, and an ABit NF7-S v2..

Also gonna see if a danger den maze2 will do enough for cooling on it.
 
Would have been better off with a DFI NF3 LanParty and a Sempron 2600+.

Price would have been about the same too.

I didn't like the Semprons too much, I gave them a test but they wasn't upto par with me.
 
Don't waste your money on water cooling that setup. I had my 2500+ XP-M at 2.4+ with stock HSF just fine

I have most parts laying around for watercooling is why, I figured what the hay why not try it.
 
I'm running the same CPU on an NF7S-v1. It's an early revision and it doesn't like running at 200Mhz FSB, but I was able to get it there by boosting the chipset voltage as high as it would go.

I can run it at 2300Mhz all day long with no problem. To get it to 2400, I have to crank up the CPU voltage pretty high to get it to boot to the desktop, and it just isn't stable running applications. But I think that's mainly because it's a version 1 board and an early revision at that. Your version 2 should be very cooperative, and not even need a chipset voltage boost to run at 200 FSB.

Did you try 754 sempron or socketA sempron?
 
I had a 2500+M and an NF7v2 for quite a while running on water. Was running a D4 with a White Water on it. I ran it at 2.75GHz@2.1V (12.5x220) for about a year or so. It broke though... not sure it liked having that kind of voltage run through it for so long. :eek:

you just bough a socket A motherboard. you could have easily bought a s939 with AMD64 3000+ for prolly 120$ more.

I know I bought I socket A mobo, I also bought another socket a cpu ;)
