I don't know too much about computers and this is going to be my first build. I heard that some RAM might not work with certain boards or something of that nature and I just wanted to make sure everything I'm going to purchase is compatible.

So far I already have an A64 3200+ and a GeForce 6800, and I want to know if the following parts will work fine in this system. Wouldn't want to buy everything and then find out it won't work (or won't work well) together. Feel free to make any recommendations.

Western Digital 80GB 7200 RPM SATA HD: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=22-135-106&depa=0

PDP SYSTEMS Memory Dual Channel Kit 184-Pin 1GB (512MBx2) DDR PC-3200: http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc.asp?description=20-220-006&depa=1

CHAINTECH "VNF3-250" nForce3 250 Chipset Motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc.asp?description=13-152-043&depa=0

Has anyone ever had any experience with that RAM? It seems like a good deal and has solid reviews. Also, I doubt at $160 it will overclock well, but when I was looking at the MSI Neo someone told me I could overclock the 3200+ independent of the RAM as there was something that made that possible on that board. I noticed the Chaintech was a lot cheaper and used the same chipset, so I was wondering if perhaps that was possible with that board as well.

Also, I've seen a few reports of people overclocking with the stock HSF on the 3200+, will it provide sufficient cooling (I'll have a very well ventilated case in an airconditioned room) and if not, what would be the best bang for your buck HSF for the 3200+?

Anyone? Please I really need some help here, I'm buying all this friday and I don't want to get the whole computer together to find it doesn't work. Wouldn't be a good experience for a first time builder.

Intel person here,

But here's a bump for ya.

Newegg reviews are censored by Newegg. They don't post many of the negative reviews a product can have so take their comments with a grain of salt. If you want a legit review of the ram plug it into Google. If it is worth anything you will find out by reading no fewer than 5 reviews from reputable sites. While your at it, research the MB the same way to see how it OCs.

I read a few reviews and it looks like it is ok ram that has decent potential for OCing.

However, it uses liberty chips. Anyone here every heard of those chips before? I know I haven't so I can't really speak for the quality.

Here is the memory compatibility list for that MB.

it was blank when I looked at it but maybe it will be back up later.

What power supply are you going with? You are going to need something reasonably big to power all that hardware plus the 6800.

The Zalman CNPS7000B-Cu is pretty much the best air cooler on the market.

I have a 420 Watt power supply. The 6800 is only an NU and I actually have it running fine on a 250 watt PSU at the moment. I may be upgrading to a GT witht he eVGA set up program, but I feel 420 Watt's is more than enough.

I clicked the link and just as you said, it was blank. I guess I'll do some searching with google, but I figured I'd check what the guys here had to say first. It's easier to find an answer to specific questions like this by asking directly. Thanks for the help man.
