Like the title says, downloaded the UD client because my son has cancer and figured I'd help in that department. Only have my dual core computer to work with for now. Already joined Team {H} :)

Great. Just so you know, not taking sides here, UD can only use one core of your CPU and not both w/o some fancy doings (fast user switching or something like that).

Most guys run 1x UD and 1x Stanford FAH in these cases, totally your call. Just wanted to point this out in case you wanted to run the system as much as possible.

I hope for the best for your son.

I think I'll pass on the Moose Molestations. Thanks though

just beat him with a stick then.

You can run 2x clients and not notice any slow down I bet. 95% chance of it.

How much RAM in the box?

I'd say a greater than 95% chance if you run 'em at 75% each core :p

Be a man, install the console client... :D

Check you task manager, what's that other core doing right now anyways?

Wise decision. Welcome to the team. I am glad to hear that your son is doing well, perhaps you can add your experience
here.

Oh, and don't pay Marty any mind, he is always trying to get others to make up for the 25% he leaves behind. :p

The only question I have at the moment is how do you guys get the little stats thing at the bottom or your posts? It doesn't seem to be part of your sig since it's quoteable. And I'm sure you don't type it everytime.

Welcome! Every little bit helps the team, and moves us that much closer to the cure we all hope our work here will eventually bring about.

Am I misundetstanding or does the badge have to be pasted into the post everytime you submit a post on the forum?

Keep in mind that even if you do game, the F@H and UD clients are very good about giving up the CPU. I've got 1GB on my AthlonXP 1800, and I have no problems playing UT2004, even with F@H running.

Okay, just finished reinstalling Vista. Got UD and F@H going. UAC caused some problems, but I set each client to run as Admin to get around them.

Normally you can count on about 3 to 6 hours after you finish your first WU. Sometime it can take a little longer.

alright thanks. If I'm reading the logs right, I'm 32% complete with a WU I started last night. So maybe tomorrow it'll be finished.
