1) installation process was very easy and quick, seemed faster than XP
2) no LAN drivers needed :)
3) no video card drivers needed to enable 1920x1200 resolution :)
4) Aero is cool, but I can't believe it raises the requirements for the video card - or am I missing out on something? the only cool thing I've done is the Windows Key + Tab
5) don't like wondering if all my usual software will work on Vista, guess I'm just going to have to start installing

oh and I am dual booting of course, no way I'd completely switch to a new OS system that's only been out one day
I don't expect to use Vista as my main OS for at least a year or two and I'll probably dual boot for at least 3

Well I can answer this one. When in Aero mode, the entire OS is done on the GPU. Yes we've had the CPU horsepower for years to do nifty transparency and the like, but this way the GPU can take over the work and leave the CPU for other tasks.
