Hey everyone,

I just intsalled Vista Home Premium 64-bit from Vista Home Premium 32-bit. While installing my apps I see that a second Program Files folder was created by Windows labeled "Program Files (x86)". I just wanted to know if this is normal and if not would if be safe for me to transfer everything from it to the main Program Files folder without any conflicts. Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback. My x-fi soundcard and graphics card's 64-bit drivers were installed in the Program FIles (x86) folder. Does it matter if 64-bit drivers get installed in that folder?

Many 64-bit drivers have 32-bit apps for the frontend. Thus they install in the X86 folder.

You can check this in Task Manager. Any 32-bit apps will have *32 in the name.

Very informative. I just noticed that. Thanks for all the inputs guys. :)
