I've just finished formatting and reinstalling the windows 7 beta. Now I'd like to dual boot into xp for game compatibility. Never dual booted before so how would I go about this?

I think step one is going to be to shrink the windows 7 partition on my c drive to make room for xp. I can just do this in disk management right? But then what do I do with that free space. Can I just boot into the xp setup and install it onto the newly created space. Or do I need to do something special still to dual boot.

for multiple booting the recommeded procedure is to first install the older windows OS, then the newer windows OS, and then linux :D Gentoo FTW :D

so if u just install XP in that HD you won't be able to access Windows 7 on the boot screen, and then either update the MBR yourself to make Windows 7 appear on the boot menu or just reinstall Windows 7
