Just Great...

I just bought an optorite dvd/cd burner...

So, I install the software, reboot... try to burn a dvd, it starts.. goes for a while, and then i get a run time error???

So I go to my computer.. it sees it as a cd-rom drive all of the sudden.. so i reboot.. same thing
went to the optorite site, got the newset firmware, installed it.. same thing except now it plays cd's. Ive uninstalled it many times, and when it comes up the "new hardware found" icon come up in the toolbar.. says the model ID (DD0401) then it changes to cd-rom drive? So now all it does is play cd's, nothing else.
So I go to properties and driver details.. and it has a bunch of cdr drivers installed? at least thats what im thinking by the names of whats there.... :
cdrom.sys
imapi.sys
pfc.sys
redbook.sys
storprop.dll

I've tryed everything I can think of, so now im turning to you guys. Help would be GREATLY appreciated

Did U uninstall the old cd drive before u installed the dvdrw?
if u didnt then REFORMAT!

if u still did the opisite from what i said, then, STILL FORMAT! but dont do it yet, lets see what the others say

never heard of the software your using

I guess I would give uninstalling all the software you installed with the drive a try and go download the demo of Nero and see if that is any better for you.

Do not reformat.
