Just got my new 9800pro

Just got a new Sapphire 9800pro which when I got it had hynix ram on in :( I thought it was going to be a crap overclocker, but im really impressed it'll do 430/380 on standard cooling with no artifacts so im happy to say the least considering it was on £175 which is pretty darn cheap for UK! :D
 
i get 423/375 using w1zzards atitools with the same card. after a couple hours of playing the memory starts artifacting. i'm ordering some ramsinks now, but yeah, these cards have potential. nice o/c.
 
I just ordered one from Newegg myself. I will have 3 bad boys.

I will have a:
2500 barton@3200 abit nfs-7 ultra 400
9800pro

My 10year old son will be @

2400xp Epox 8rda+
9700pro

My 5 year old gets the little system
2400xp abit nf-7
9500pro


Ati owns my whole family right now! (except for the wife) she could give a shit less just as long as she can get her her did. lol

Rivertuner, also just put the VGA silencer on it'll do 450/382 :) I put it through stress testing of 3d mark o1 nature repeating over and over with 4x aa on , no artifacts appeared at those speeds :)

nah. actually he plays a lot of Taz, Bf1942, SVEN, and unreal2 MP. He is starting to like Natural Selection as well.. pretty smart for a 5year old :)

I was going to get him the 9600pro, but with HL2 and all of the other games coming out that are going to kickass, I figured I would give us all a little more UMPH!

indeed. i just ordered a 9800 pro from newegg too. 225 bucks :D
 
yeah apparently this batch is really good, lots of people are getting 430/380 stable, im doing 440/390 stable, and newegg reviews state nice OC's too
 
im too scared to run any higher than 400/360 on my ati 9800pro with samsung memory :(

Got my 9800 Pro from newegg for $224

Haven't tried to overclock it yet until my Vantec Iceburq 4 Premium and OCZ ramsinks come in the mail from SVC. Then I'll unleash the power.
 
Hey im going to get the ocz ramsinks, how are you going to attach them? thermal epoxy?

I just got my sapphire 9800 pro in from newegg. I paid only 219! Ordered it on the sale on monday. Here is a pic of the ram http://geoffnt1.home.comcast.net/DSCN8015.JPG If its the kind of ram you were looking for then I can put a copy of my cards bios up on my webspace too. BTW, its an awesome card. Got about 18k 3dmarks and now pretty much everything runs smooth. Its like night and day vs. the radeon 8500 I had before.
 
Yeah, thats the kind I am looking for, the hynix 2.8ns :). That would be great if you could put a copy up so I could DL it. BTW, nice deal you got there for only $219.
 
Is it worth the $60 to get the Tyan 9800pro with the Heatsink covering the ram?

If I don't plan to O/C, do I need to worry about this Hynix ram issue? What about the Powercolor flavor of it?
 
Ugh, looks like my floppy drive has gone bust. Unless there is a utility that can download the bios in windows, I am not going to be able to get it :(
 
hmm...that sux thanks anyway for trying though :) I guess I will have to try and get them from someone else.
