should i install my system in atx or btx style .. the only good thing about doing it btx is my quad sli will be up top and the 120 top exhaust is right there .. to help get the hot air out of the case .. i will have 2x120s blowing down on them ?

no i think its like the lian li V series, where the mobo tray is switched around, so your mobo is upside down and facing out the right side of hte case
 
its just btx style like the v series lian li's

i have the choice to run atx ./. btx in the stacker 830

so guys why should i run it btx style
 
I'd go with whatever would help your cooling setup as opposed to what looks better. It sounds like BTX would cool your gfx cards better, so unless you have a passive northbridge cooler that wouldn't perform well upsidedown, why not go BTX? Go for ease and functionality.
 
well i dont know if its easier .. but im just saying .. either way ill have 2x120s blowing down on the cards .. the other difference is .. going btx .. right above the video cards will be a 120mm exhaust .. since the video cards will be at the top of the case ..
 
I got my black 830 yesterday from ClubIT. You can go with ATX, reverse ATX, or BTX. I think you would be better off with reverse ATX.
 
is that an external 3.5inch bay at the very top? I need somewhere to put my internal flash card reader/
 
no its not .. but there is a 5.25 to 3.5 adapter faceplate and brackets if u need to mount something like that

thing i love about this case over the other stacker is u can remove all the internal usb cables and stuff and not have to take out the panel itself .. it just unplugs
 
well set it up in normal atx for now .. its an awesome case .. some problems though i see is there is like no way to hide cables .. gonna be tough ..

also another problem is my cpu cooler blocks me from running all 4 120s on the side panel .. i can only run the bottom 2 .. gonna have to fix this .. maybe switch to a shorter cpu cooler .. the ninja is too tall
 
How can you set it up BTX style with an ATX motherboard? As soon as you switch if over to BTX you're going to need a BTX motherboard. From what I've seen, it isn't like the Lian-Li cases where it is just an ATX board flipped it. Once you put it in BTX form, you need a BTX board which has the expansion cards on the right hand side instead of the left hand side. Am I missing something here? Look at the ATX vs BTX picture of the case, no way will a ATX board fit in it when it is setup as a BTX case.
 
I liked that case in white, but damn that is even nicer in black...

^^^ this is why it should be required to read the thread before bein alund to post, as said 3 or 4 maybe 5 times in the thread all it does is flip the mobo tray over so the parts are upside down, see example:

And if you would have bothered to read the thread the OP asked whether he should set his system up as ATX or BTX. He has an ATX mobo but many replies came back suggesting to set it up as BTX. This just shows that an abundant amount of people on this forum either associate BTX with reverse ATX or do not pay much attention to details of a post. :)

Exactly...BTX means that you have the expansion slots on the right side of the board, sure set it up reverse ATX and go at it, but it's not BTX so stop calling it so. Lian-Li doesn't label any of their reverse style cases BTX for a reason, they aren't BTX.
 
Did the black version just recently got release? I like to see when MicoCenter has it. I like silver, my brother like the black.

Are you having problems hiding your PSU cables? :eek: The case is huge. I found it quite easy to work with. I just shoved all my excess cables into empty drive bays.
