So, I just bought an Antec Solo from Fry's.

My old case had 2x 80mm rear exhaust fans, and an open side. I had removed the window and replaced it with mesh to improve airflow. On the HDDs I had the Iceberq coolers to keep the temps down.

CPU temp: Idle:30 Load:38
HDDs:34-38

When I got the Solo, I expected the temps to go up. I had a 120mm rear exhaust on low speed, removed the HDD coolers, and now had an enclosed side. There are NO intake fans at all on the case.

CPU temp: Idle:26 Load:36

I'm extremely happy with this case. It is extremely quiet, and runs so much cooler than my old case. How is this even possible? I thought that I had restricted some airflow, but obviously the airflow has become much improved.

Its a very nice case but I find that the finish gets scratched way too easily. Everytime I move the case to open it or if I place an object (book, papers etc) on top of it scratches appear.

I'm extremely anal about keeping my PC's nice. I never put anything on top of them or near them. When I move it, I pick it up with cloths so I don't scratch it or get greasy mits all over it. :D

I'll post some pictures up tomorrow after I unpack my camera. Just went on vacation so I have to find it.

This mirrors my experience with my Antec Sonata II. Only a single 120mm exhaust fan, and an intake vent on the front, but no fan. Runs cooler than I would have expected it to. I'm glad to hear your having positive experiences with the Solo
