Use ASUS Update, its on the cd. Download the latest bios here.

I had trouble downloading the latest bios with the ASUSUpdate tool provided to me from Asus. You may want to get the latest version from the asus site.

Go to the download page from Asus and download the .rom file from there. Then, use Asus Update and select "update BIOS from a file" and point toward your .rom file. I have not often been able to update the BIOS directly from the Asus update as they seems to get always hammered so this is what I do. Flawless.

I updated mine with a floppy.

The floppy lives, the floppy lives. Yea.

If you want to see how I OC my A8V and FX53, go here and scroll to the middle of my page to see pics.

Just updated my bios from 1007 to 1009. The AFUDOS utility had some weird error. So I renamed the bios file A8V.ROM, rebooted, pressed ALT-F2, and the MB read the file from the floppy and did the update. Still needed the floppy.

I hate reviews that say the floppy is no longer needed.
