Hey guys i just installed this puppy but right now im formatting my harddrive. i have 2 questions...

1. Do i install the drivers on the disc it came with or just download the latest drivers from ati ( Cat 3.10 )?

2. I noticed that on the powercable it came with there is a female and male connector i connected the male to one the powersupply the female is to expand? Do i need to connect this to something? Or just power the other is optional?

I can't wait!!!!!
 
Im not going to connect it to the harddrive like it says in the manual is this ok?
 
that power connector is not optional, the card is a hunk of burning graphics love and needs all the power it can get

/edit I'd dl the drivers direct

/edit edit The connector is a power splitter, the card needs a direct feed from the PSU, so they give you that splitter to connect up direct
 
Get the 3.10's.

And I've never heard of connecting a vid card to a hard drive...but yeah, don't do it.
 
Definitely download the latest Ati drivers. Plug the cord to a free power supply cable and to the video card.

he means on the power supply daisy chain.

Congrats on a good card, mine has lasted me a year so far, and still loving it, I am waiting to see what is coming out for the loki 420 and the nv40 before making another purchase.
 
HOLD ON!!!! it has 2 connectors on the end of my card where do i connect it? i connected one (the male) to the powersupply what do i do with the other?
 
Lol. Its just like a fan it has the female and male connectors incase you need to chain together. Just hook it up to a power line, preferably its own.
