Just got dell 2007wfp , need some info on how can I test it to make sure it has no dead pixels everything works. I went into the menu it says V1B18 and RT803 , its revision A03 , made in mexico.

what kind of panel is that ?, also on dell site they came put with new design http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=320-4688
what should I do to get the new one , also when dell ships another replacement is that a new one or refurbished ?

The monitor doesn't work in dvi it keeps on saying power saving mode ??

The panel you have is the S-IPS. It may be perilous to return it at this point since the S-IPS is a slippery item to acquire. I havent read from anyone with the new re-design so they may not even be S-IPS. I had 2 Dell S-PVA versions and they weren't very nice. If you want the other re-design I would say try buying seperately to try it before you send back what you have.

RT803 is the S-IPS panel....I'm pretty certain that if you return it trying to get the new design you will have to do it before the 21 days are up, otherwise you get a refurb. Also be aware that you "won" the lottery on this one and may end up with a S-PVA next time. are you sure the DVI port isn't working? You might want to try updating your video drivers..

I'd keep the S-IPS panel. They are much better than the PCAs.

Besides, THIS thread seems to suggest that the pic of the "redesign" is really a screw up and someone at Dell posted a pic of the upcoming 27" display.

so what brand of panel S-IPS panel is LG or samsung, I want to do few more tests to check bad pixels, ghosting , test dvi, I am going to keep this after I do all the tests and hope nothing is wrong with this one.

Any suggestions on how to do different tests and also calibrate the monitor.

The RT803 is an LG panel. As far as I have read, the 24" is a Samsung and the 30" is again an LG.

any post here which tells me how to do different types of test on the monitor so its ok ??

Noticed few things about the monitor :-
a) When the pc turns off, the monitor shows red , green , blue on the screen.
b) goes into dvi power save mode , anyway to disable it.
c)back light bleeding is there anyway to fix it other than that monitor is pretty bright pip works great.

Overall I am pretty happy with the moinitor
