I started litecoin mining this evening and saw my top GPU was reaching 83c and my bottom one was reaching 77c.

So I decided to take the side cover off my case and see what that would do since I suspected I was not getting enough airflow through my case.

That only dropped the temp down about 3-4c in a few minutes, so I decided to point a 140mm fan towards the GPUs. That dropped the top one to 74c, and the lower one to 71c.

I then decided to mod the side of my case so I could mount the 140mm fan where I had been holding it.

After getting it all back together, I am now running 67c on both.

10c and 15c drop is pretty nice for the little amount of work I did. :D

That is pretty incredible but it seems like a nice case should already give you that kind of airflow? What case was it?

Nice temp drop.

That Lian Li PC-100 case looks like weird airflow and design.

Glad to hear people modding the case side for GPU cooling. Great way to give a case some flow.
Worked for me with similar temp results (albeit back when I had a GTX 260, I think). Hopefully yours was less ghetto.
