Just Droping a Line

Just wanted to stop by to say Hello and to post what I have Folding for Hord...

Glad to hear from you and even more glad you are folding for team 33. I'll take a shot here and say judging by your nick you would be a female lady type, and we never have enough of those;)

Fold on, have fun and watch out for the addiction;)

Ah, hehe, no that's my little girl's name. She's 3. And I ran out of ideas for nicks. Definately not the female lady type.

Welcome to the team. Beers and Tamales are available over at the bar. :D

If it's for folding why not get a E2160 and drop a GPU in it. I have one I might be willing to part with. ;)

Good foldin!
And since Crazy Larry isn't here yet: "Go kick cancer in the box!"

Here is the specifications on the dell server
It does on average 30 - 60 ppd
running vmware with notfred's disk
is there another way to get more ppd out of this because it can't be overclocked

That sounds about right for those procs. I ran a Poweredge 1300 (I think) with dual PIII's at 550MHz and thats pretty much what I was getting.

Thats why i'm looking for 2 more processors and more memory..that way at least it will be able to do about 90 - 120 ppd

It's a great project, but for the power that that will eat up compared to the production, not to mention spending more $$ on procs and memory.......

one 80 buck 8800gt will push 4-5k ppd.

But if your doing this for fun/hobbie and you like working with old hardware, go for it!

Well thats all the hardware I have is old stuff. It can only handle agp vids so no gpu folding for me and no quads for me. This is the only other way I know to increase my ppd. Later tonight I will post exact specks on what boards and processors I have.
