Just curious

It seems lately everyone has been talking about mobile PCs (IE like that one dude who wants to build one on treads). I'm wondering, since computer parts have progressed to a point where they are small enough for this to be possible, has anyone put a PC in a model RC AIRPLANE? Lord knows there are some biggie RC planes capable of carrying (small) cargo, and if this is capable I would like the idea of my comp flying 50 feet above my head :D

Nah I wouldnt cry. I'd use dirt cheap components that were kinda old (Not like i wanna run WinXP w/ all the goodies and periphal goombas on a bitchin' 64 bit proc) I'd reinforce the fuselage to withstand crashes and I'd fly it low-and-slow so if it did crash it wouldnt be damaged too much.

Computers have been put on RC planes, But no PCs that I know of. Mostly the computers were used for datalogging.

More like $4K. RC planes can be expensive too!

I'd like to see something original like this for a change...

ProjectTwin had an awesome RC Avalanche he gutted and was working on putting a PC in that would run off of batteries. It was a very popular thread at the time. His last update was almost a year ago though so I guess it will never be completed.

What i thought i'd do for a monitor was set up some sort of wireless solution, but I dont know where to start. I was thinking wireless camera but that doesnt make sense. If anybody got suggestions for how to continue this I'd like to hear them.

What are you going to do with the PC? Will you need a monitor? If you need a monitor the best thing might be a motherboard with a TV out and then just hook the TV out to a video transmitter.

*SHRUGS* I dunno i just thought it was a novel idea that could work. You could fly it to the LAN party i guess LOL :p
