these are completly random, i just felt like posting some picture here as i havnt for a while, so i am just going through some of my betterish photos that i like and now posting them...

well, 5 of them.

oh, and yes, i have edited some of these/most of these. by edit, i mean using: desaturate, gaussian blur (first photo), sharpen, curves. thats it.

I really doubt that the first picture is unedited

where did you get these pics from ?

huh?

they are all edited, besides the picture of the sky/sunset and the picture of the leaf. well, the leaf is semi edited, just levels though... well i might have sharpened it a tiney bit, and i am pretty sure that i tried to fix the white balance...

but eitehr way, i never claimed that there were straight out of the camera.

they are just photographs. i have taken...

ohh i see
its just that the picture feels really unnatural
so i was like there is no way you could have that much of a DOF and have a constant out of focus factor everywhere around

what camera do you use ?

ah, i have a digital rebel.

i like it a lot.

in fact, i love it. probably my favorite camera i have owned so far.
 
kinda off topic but uh, I had to take a picture of a sunset years ago for photography. I took a bunch of pictures alot like that one you have taken. And my teacher actualy failed me saying that there was too much in the fore ground and the focus was not on the sunset itself. I was like that is what i was going for, just plane old sunsets are boring.

I realy like that picture of the sunset, ther is so much to look at that you feel forced to stare at it for alittle bit longer.

And the first picture, makes me realy stare at the eye as if to search for another picture with in it. Very nice work there.

yes, the sunset picture might be a bit busy, but as you pointed out, w/o the "stuff" in the forground it would be just a sunset...

the highres/large format version of the photo is a lot nicer, as you can reallly see the details/etc.


as far as the baby picture, thanks, although it isnt quite what i was looking for... her face is almost not "pure" enough for that really ultra soft look it has, i might go back and redo the image.


i have photos that i do lots of PS work on, and lots that i dont do anything with... these are some of the photos with PS work done i guess :)
 
AHHH It's the return of the obcenely cute child, like the Is it a doll or real picture :p
Great picture BTW, the last one is wonderful, same with the leaf.

This is why I'd never take a graded class on photography or any other art... IMO no one has the right to tell me that what they see is right and what I see is wrong, when I take a picture. For me photography is a very internal....personal opinion.

Now a workshop on composition or lighting technique, that is a different story.
 
another vote for the sunset photo : ) fine work.
don't you love that Digital Rebel? i am lucky enough to own one as well.
