Hi. Right now I have a 120GB drive in my computer. A few days ago I ordered a 250GB drive as part of an upgrade. I plan to use my new 250GB drive for storage of videos, savegames, you know, all the 'archive' stuff, not actual programs.

On the other hand, I plan to then use my old 120GB drive to store program files on.

First of all, is this a good idea? Has anyone else tried this with success or failure?

Second of all, all my stuf fis on my current drive. When the new one comes, I want all the data on that and the program files on my smaller drive. But I want to basically reformat, start over fresh without having to back up everything onto CD's. How do I do this (perhaps using my 120gb drive)?

so u want to transfer everything to the new drive?

i believe western digital provides a program for this on their website

Well, if I understand what you're asking, you could put Windows on the new 250, and install the programs to the 120. That way you don't mess with your existent data and possibly nuke everything.
