I just bought a l90d+, its my first LCD monitor and I've been hearing real good things. But I was just wondering from you guys who own them. What am I getting myself into? I am a hardcore gamer and thinking about watching movies now that I've got some 2.1 speakers and stuff. Just curious though what you guys have to say about your L90d+'s!
 
well i dont have one, but my friend has one. I went over his house today and saw it (along with the rest of his brand new set up). Its so nice that i think im getting one. No noticable difference between that and a crt i am using (a little color difference, i guess different calibrations?). I needed an LCD for school so it doesnt kill all my desk space, and now i know exactly what i want, the l90d+. plus i even had a reccomendation from a fellow [H] member. Cant wait.
 
Ya, also a good thing about LCD's is that they don't use near as much power. So your power bill will be teh win.
 
i think what happens is you overanalyze your new monitor early on, but if its a soundly built one you just deal with it.

gaming the thing shines in all my experiences thus far. there might be better looking monitors techincally speaking.

but i kick ass in battlefield 2 and other action paced games and i dont see an glaring picture quality issues in that reguard.

movies and dvds are watchable to me, im used to watching low quality crap anyways. sometimes i see dithering but i just dont let it bother me.

and surfing around, etc. seems normal.

after using a crt for a long time i do have to say i wasnt really impressed with technology or anything.

i like it for now though and love the space it saved and have kept it.
 
Ya the space saving will be different for me. It'll take some time to get use to not seeing a 4foot thick monitor in front of me.
 
i thought it was 8 bit.

its good except two things
1. the buttons are a pain in the arse to use. better to adjust using software provided
2. the blue led is to bright for me so i put a post-it note over it.

also, i have a feeling that the blue led is sorta giving the lower right part of the screen a bluish tint if you turn off all your lights and use a pure black blackground. i am not sure. can someone confirm/deny this pls?

other than that it is fine.
ps does anyone know how to adj the height. i couldn't figure it out :rolleyes:

1. Nope, its 6bit with dithering to make 16.2 million colors *and it does a good job
2. Yep, buttons are a complete pain in the ass
3. Your a wuss :p

Bluish tint? Me thinks you need to check your eyes cause I stare straight at my L90D+ for hours on end with the blue LED uncovered and I get no such thing.

Then again, next week, my Dell 2405FPW will take its place :D
