i just bought a dremel, i'm gonna use it to cut two 120 mm holes in the top and bottom of my case. i'm going to use the circle scribe with the #561 mandrin bit. it says that it is for aluminum siding and stuff like that so it should cut through my case right?

has anybody done it like this?

if you read my post you will see that i'm asking if anybody has used a circle scribe and a mandrin bit instead of a cut-off wheel.

i dunno i would stay with the tried-and-tru cut-off wheel. with a steady hand and the flexshaft attachment, i've done nicer blowholes than even my latest experiments with a holesaw http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=752953

i dunno. ppl likely tried this already. perhaps its best not to mess with tradition.

IOW, you dont know either. Well, I dont know if anyone has used a circle scribe before either.

ok so my dad and i were using the circular scribe thing and it sucked. the bit broke. then we used the bottom part to continue (the bit broke in half, we just used one half to continue) and the scribe got loose so it went off course and i had to reposition the hole. then we decided to use those fiberglass wheels and that worked great.

yea, so don't use the circular scribe.

i'm going to say i totally called it. if it were a better way, someone would have thought of it by now. the circle scribe wasnt invented yesterday.
