I have a 7950 and a 7870 LE in crossfire and I was wondering if I will be getting up to 3gb ram usage or only 2gb?

Thanks.

I'm not 100% on this, but I'm pretty sure you are limited to whatever RAM size is on the smallest card.

So if you have a 7950 3GB cf with a 7870 2GB, the 7950 will be limited to 2GB as well.
If you have 7950 3GB cf with a 7870 1GB, the 7950 would be limited to 1GB as well.

it also may cause several issues with the Vram usage and may for sure cause major slowdown in Vram sensitive games and stuttering.... the best way to avoid that kind of issues its to match Vram size.

Have not had any issues with the set up so far. No shuttering and great fps close to a 7950 crossfire. I was reading the new BF4 tread and there is talk that 2gb dose not cut it, so I was just wondering.
I am using the 7950 for video output and the 7870 is in the second slot, I am also running them in 16x pci and 4x pci respectively. Maybe I am lucky.

Even playing at 1600p Tomb Raider only used about 1.6gig. You should be fine for a while.

I can't imagine the final version of BF4 would use more than 2gb at 1080p. That would limit the vast majority of cards out there.
