Jungle 512 noise

I have a Jungle 512 cooling my Prescott 3.4 cpu and it's really annoying to the other 2 people in my office. I have a Vantec Stealth 92mm fan that I was wondering if I could use to replace the fan on the Jungle.

Would this work to quiet the system and not overheat the CPU?

Right now between the whine of my PC&C power supply (RMAing it since they determined it's a bad unit) and the CPU fan everyone in my office is really hating my new "faster" system.

i read a few reviews on the internet and it says that the jungle 512 is both loud and crappy at cooling. Supposedly its worse than stock. Replacing the fan on the Heatsink would only lose more cooling and may damage your chip.

So to answer your question, no

I would recommend a Zalman 7000 Series for quiet operation

By default, it doesn't fit on the LGA775 platform... you need some sort of adapter ring.

And yeah, the Jungle512 is worse than stock for cooling...

Thanks for the info, I was considering changing back to the stock for the noise but though the cooling would be better with the larger fan of the jungle. Hopefully a new cooler will hit the market for the 775s soon.

a larger fan means nothing. If you have a 80mm tornado on a heatsink vs a 30 cfm 92mm fan, the 80mm would win regardless. This is similar because the Vantec Stealth you suggested does not blow too much air and it will not be better for cooling
