Sure it is.Win95 doesn't need anymore than 512MB of RAM.

I agree with everyone else. 512 is most certainly not enough anymore and there is even emerging evidence that 1GB is no longer enough. For my new rig next year I am seriously considering 2GB of PC2 4200.Krycek1 said:No, 1 gig of ram is overrated for playing games and I really like to be efficient and get maximum bang for the buck. I've done plenty of research and 512mb is nearly as effective as 1 gig in most high resolution games including Battlefield 2 and DOOM 3.

Spend $500 on a video card and hate AA??USMC2Hard4U said:I know I will be getting one 7800GTX. And I hate Anti Alising, I think I will be ok with 1 GTX.
I think AA is pretty stupid. Get rid of the "jaggies" which I dont notice anyway. When I play fast paced games I dont care how the wall or celing look, if they are jagged or not, of course they will its a computer game, But I just want ultimate smoothness so I can kill that bastard before he shoots me.OrionNT said:Spend $500 on a video card and hate AA??![]()

I really dont care how the game looks as long as it runs good.
Plus, I will settle for no less than my max monitor res and absolute highest in game details. But I dont need FSAA and Ansicopic filtering to any other enhancements like that, I think its cool that they are their but not for me at all.

That is a complete myth that I proved was false two years ago.Skrying said:I cant go up to a high resolution or it makes heads to small

It's the same size. Your eyes tell you nothing apart from what people in random forums you read tell you.Skrying said:I'll holy disgree, but oh well. It may be the same size, but it looks nowhere close to being the same size to me.

SatinSpiral said:lol if you're so concerned with easier headshots, instead of spending $500 more on a new videocard, spend 200 for this very nice refurbed 22in CRT i found on pricewatch. You'll cheese your pants with how big the heads are.![]()

"Once again, the numbers don't quite meet reality head on. While using our setup with 512MB, we experienced lots of chugging due to the large textures swapping between system memory and the hard drive."Krycek1 said:No, 1 gig of ram is overrated for playing games and I really like to be efficient and get maximum bang for the buck.
