Joining two partitions

Hey guys, can I use the Disk Management to adjoin two different partitions on the same drive? I have one 18 Gig SCSI disk and two different partitions (C: and D:). I would like to just have one partition for the full size of the drive. Thanx
 
Only way I have ever been able to do this is to copy the data on the secondary partition to some other drive (back it up in other words), use partition magic and delete the secondary partition, then extend the primary partition to use the new free space. Once its done and you have rebooted then go copy your backed up data to your new larger primary partition.
 
Thought about that, but I really have no way to back up that data here at work. Guess I'll have IT come down and reformat/reimage the drive.
 
No sort of a network share you could temporarily copy it to ?
 
Yes, that is exactly what I have just tried. Copied everything to the network, deleted the partition, then tried to merge partitions, but XP won't do it, and I don't have a software license for Partition Magic.
