Untitled John Wick Game- Announce Trailer

Created in collaboration with Saber Interactive, Lionsgate, and franchise director Chad Stahelski, the new ‘Untitled John Wick Game’ will feature an original script set in the John Wick timeline

Saber’s design will be faithful to the unique style and signature elements of the series, including a distinct gun fu combat system, jaw-dropping camerawork, immersive driving experiences and a variety of memorable environments, all crafted to make players feel like they are in a John Wick movie, playing the role of John Wick himself...

Good to finally see it confirmed, but if it has no title it is a long way off. I hope they do it right and make it FPS, but I am thinking it will be a TPS.

My parents watched the entire season there are like 5 season if the game has slow motion bullet time I might buy it.

Okay, okay, maybe John Wick series didn't, but Keanu's iconic Neo role DID use it...and John Wick was heavily influenced by the Matrix series.

So - if bullet time does get implemented, I'm all for it.

Bullet time? No way. This should be as realistic as possible, and difficult. I’d like to see zero HUD and things like damage to arms that makes it difficult to shoot/fight, damage to legs that make it difficult to run/walk, etc.

Wild that it took them this long to make a game in that universe. Hopefully it's halfway decent and not just doing the same 2-3 attack sequences over and over. It doesn't need to be a fighting game, but something akin to Sleeping Dogs. Plot-wise, the deeper they try to get into the whole "table" thing, the hokier things tend to get. It feels like a little kid trying to explain one lie with a series of increasingly escalating lies. Eventually things just dissolve into chaos.

"Proper" game.

Agreed, and FPS. Most FPS games are kind off stale. There is so many improvements that can be made but they tend to just shove in open world, RPG elements, and side quests rather than making the core gameplay better. Though this doesn't need to be ArmA: John Wick, it just needs to have better, more realistic damage/injury for NPCs. Better animations for movement and positioning and things like that.

Keanu is getting up there in age so transitioning the John Wick franchise to video games might be the better option

Idk. As much as I prefer a first person perspective when aiming is involved I feel like the hand to hand stuff would be weird. I’m thinking a close over the shoulder perspective.

Just make it primarily a shooter. Some QTEs for disarming or take downs is fine. The first movie was primarily shooting. We have too many generic action games as is with crappy shooting thrown in. I know the later movies went a bit more crazy on the melee but they have got progressively more uninteresting. Stay true to the original.

Ugh. I would prefer zero QTE’s. That’s the thing.. I feel like I have conceptual ideas of how this game could be great and stick to the gritty realism of the movies, but I’m not sure how it could be practically pulled off in game.

Off topic but for the record 2 is my favorite, followed closely by 1, then 4, then 3.

Walmart Radio mentioned the game last night on the BO show. Everyone else has ear buds I soak up Walmart Radio got lots of ideas for music from the DJs. I record the music overhead then decode it on my phone app.

Thing is, unless it is a full on fighting game with combos and whatnot, melee almost always is a QTE. Its truly hard to mix fighting and shooting games together and a good control scheme that flows well. But there are games like Dying Light 2 and Mirror's Edge that have nice parkour and some basic first person melee moves. I'd rather see something like that expanded on, IMO.

I wonder if they could they make something somewhat mmo like where everyone is their own assassin with continental membership? 🤔 Take on gigs or managed pvp stuff.

everyone is their own version of John Wick?...or everyone is a different assassin of their own creation?...sounds cool but I doubt a developer would be able to create a cool sandbox like that

Different. Like the john wick world but before he goes ballistic. Just call it "the continental" or something like that. Doesn't have to have him in it at all. 🤷

I need to see gameplay before forming an opinion. Does look interesting, sort of.

If this plays like Sleeping Dogs only with more complex martial arts, I'm in.

Sleeping Dogs really was a pretty phenomenal mix of shooting and hand-to-hand. The driving and GTA mayhem weren't half bad, too. If someone told me to make a John Wick game, I'd immediately start there.

The shooting sucked honestly, but it was a fighting game. The combos were quite nice as were the environmental take downs. Guns were more of extra things and it annoyed me that sleeping or something would have your gun disappear, but it was clearly not designed around them. I would hope any John Wick is shooting first, and melee is just a secondary aspect.

Real shame about the Sleeping Dogs sequel being cancelled though.

Man, walking into those street fight clubs in Reservoir Dogs was the shit.

Yeah, if it's got a similarity to that game, I'm for sure interested.
