I'm working on a new project and have been tasked to create a widget form that we can give to users to drop on their site. Two options here: Create an .aspx form and have them IFrame it into their page (simple, straightforward) or, create the form via Javascript and give them a Javascript snippet to drop on their page to create the form, post back to our server, and get their results.
Using the example here: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/pajohn/archive/2008/06/18/web-widgets-with-net-part-one.aspx I was able to get the form to display on the page.
The only thing on the end users page is this:
<script type="text/javascript"
src="MyWidget.jss" >
</script>
Now I need to have the form have a clickable link to post back to the server, get some data and display it on the screen. I'm using the XMLHttpRequest object and the problem is, it won't go cross domain. Are there any alternatives/examples someone can point me at for this?
Thanks.
