Okay I came across this at the Sachs Report (which I recommend bookmarking, updates on Sunday, great for monday morning at the office).

Anyway, here are some really cool speakers, but I cant find any info on sound quality.

There are a few more on this site as well as mini rubber toys that look like the speakers, which I am contemplating buying.

There is also a ton of figures for sale (but they dont come cheap) at KidRobot
If nothing more, let this serve as a cool idea for those of you into modding with an old set of speakers lying around.
 
To me, they seem more like a novelty than anyhting else. I know they aren't going to sound as nice as a $200 set of Athenas if that's what your looking for...but they are pretty cool, and I think for a bedroom system or even an office system they would definately be neat to look at.
