I think the Japanese developers do really good with graphics/gameplay/story.

I am playing devil may cry 4 and Pro evolution soccer 2009....

DMC4 has a lot of replay value and PES has unlimited replay value since its a sports sim.

That said, I will be getting resident evil 5 for sure but what other Japanese games should i get??

I was a fan of team silent who made Silent hill 1, 2, 3 and 4

They unfortunately didn't made Silent Hill Homecoming though, and from what I heard, it was a very bad game

I like all the previous Silent Hill titles though, especially Silent Hill 2. Their graphics may be dated compare to modern games, but it has great gameplay, if you love 3rd person horror games with puzzles , you should try them out.

I especially like Silent Hill 2 story line, i think it has the best storyline of all silent hill series. But in terms of horror, I prefer Silent Hill 4

PES09 is load of shit compared to fifa09 imo

I can't think of the last japanese game that I liked.

It may have been Final Fantasy 7, but I never bothered to finish that, so I'm not really sure how much I actually liked it.

I prefer western-style RPGs and first person shooters.

They make good games for sure, but they've been falling behind the graphic department last few years...I mean the most selling hardware is DS/PSP, go figure.

However, the word 'Japanese' doesn't mix very well in PC game forums. Unless you talking about the hentai anime games market now thats Japanese exclusive!

No Japanese (or any nationality, really) fighting game will ever be as good as O.M.F. 2097. /smug bastard.

Beyond that, get yourself a copy of Cave Story. It's a free 2D platformer, one of the best you will ever play. Then, go get yourself a copy of Yume Nikki. It's insane. It is also free. Then, import a few of the Danmaku Touhou shmups(Start with perfect cherry blossom) , play for a few minutes, and toss your computer out the window in frustration because that shit is too hard.

In all honesty, outside of the indie games i mentioned (and a few others) there aren't all that many top notch Japanese games on the PC. Get yourself a 360 and PS2 if you really want some Japanese games, that's where all the action is at.

Oh yeah, and Melty Blood Act Cadenza Ver.B It is a most excellent 2d fighter.
