Any word so far on the planned Jan 20th release of mainstream Penryn processors? ( namely the Q9450 )

Are they on track for the scheduled release at the media-reported MSRPs?

Don't expect to see this price until the end of the year. It will definitly be hovering around $350 for awhile.

That's a weird release date if I've seen one. Now one is getting mail on Sunday and MLK day is Mon. If anything retailers are getting them on the 22nd. Unless they get shipped by truck freight and truckers work on holidays.

The E8500 (9.5 multi, 45nm) OCed wayyyy higher on air than anyone has ever gotten the E6850 (9 multi, 65nm).
For only a 0.5 multi increase, I think that is a testament to Intel's new processor's overclocking ability.
