anyone else notice that in BF2, need for speed MW and some other games, on either ATi or Nvidia cards, self shadows and environment dynamic shadowing is chronically jagged? no matter the AA and FSAA settings the shadows remain the same ugly jaggies. Is there any way to resolve this without turning off shadows?

this is very prevelant on an ati card, i didnt know it was an nvidia problem too. some games, like tomb raider legends it alsmost ruins the game along with some funky lighting problems before it was patched

I've noticed the jagged shadows in BF2 on both ATI and Nvidia cards, seems like sloppy coding on their part to me.

Ok good cause i noticed it to and i was like wtf is my aa not working lol.

It's a feature implemented by EA into BF2.

It's called Jank Shadow 3.0

The effect looks like really poor game coding but is actually a really clever feature in disguise.

It is simply the way the game renders the shadow. Nothing you can do about it except hope the next iteration of the game series uses better shadows.
