Ivy Bridge will be 1155!

But with still probably require a new chipset, so therefore a new motherboard. :(
Probably not, but it's possibly, especially with (unreleased) low end versions of 6 series PCH. LGA1156 had an unusually short life because certain 45nm processors were cancelled and it was launched with 32nm processors instead. It was designed for a tick tock cycle, but only got a tick.

I'm surprised that IB availability on 1155 is news to fuad. Shrinks don't get a new socket. Of course IB was going to be available on the mainsteam to low end platform. The top end is just a niche. :p
