I've been having an annoying problem w/ XP

This problem has plagued me through different installs of XP. What happens is at some random time for some unknown reason the - button is spammed. I don't press the button but it still happens randomly.

I've actually met someone else with this exact same problem and he didn't have anything close to the same hardware setup as I do except for using XP. Anyone have any ideas on how to stop this?

I usually just deal with it but I was trying to watch a file and the spamming - kept lagging the audio further and further behind. It just drove me over the top so I want to do something about it.

I thought I would add that I'm using the Saitek keyboard with the lighting behind the keys (first version). So, any ideas on how I could fix this?

Uninstall the keyboard from device manager and reboot.

Also, dose he have the same keyboard or motherboard as you?
Could be an issue with the keyboard controller on the mobo.

See if there are any BIOS updates?

I'll note that I'm using the newer Saitek backlight keyboard and havent had any problems with it myself.

No he had a completely different setup. He was using some PS/2 keyboard and an intel proc so it isn't hardware related.

Did you compare installed software/software running in the background?

Seems to me that that's the culprit if you have no hardware in common.
